Here's my problem ..
I have an explorer 92 with a class 3 hitch,a 4 way connector not mounted on the receiver but
loose in the jack compartment.. my dilemma is how do I wire a 7 way flat connector (I have a 4 to 7 adapter for mounting on the hitch) since I will have to get some kind of brake system
that require a 7 way .. do I need to run wires from the front of the truck or do I have other options ?
can I just plug in the 4way from the expl to the 4 way connector on the adapter and then run the remaining wires from the brake system to the
break pin on the adapter ????
cheers
That is exactly what I did with my 94 Explorer. Use the adaptor, run one wire from the back to the cab for your brake controller and if you like, run one from the back to under the hood for a battery charge line (I recommend using a battery isolator or at least a solenoid to provide some separation).
