Major problem with new truck!

Twice now I have found myself cruising down the freeway at speeds approaching 90 mph without realizing it. This is not good. This truck is way too smooth, powerful and quiet, someone needs to alert Ford of the safety factors associated with that!!

You could always use the MyKey feature to set yourself some warnings and limits...

Well that would be no fun.

(but it might keep you from getting a ticket.)

Hehehe, thought that'd make y'all look. But seriously, I have GOT to keep an eye on the speedometer! It's just too easy to go too fast, and what was really odd is how my mpg went up when I did! You'd think it would be the other way around, but then again, I am still breaking in the engine - right? Odometer at ~600 miles.

Maybe that MyKey idea isn't so bad after all....

My truck has the same problem.

I took the 30' camper out last weekend and the darn truck kept creeping up to 80 mpg! Not a bump or a shudder, just smooth as butter.

I'm a big believer in the use of cruise control. Life's too short to be paying speeding tickets all the time...

"Major problem with new truck!"

Had me going also, I thought there was going to be something BIG when I clicked on the link, WHEW!!

I find myself gradually creeping faster and faster thinking that something is going on in traffic, but it's just me!

Yep, I've already been stopped for 55 in a 40 just because I liked the feel of the aceleration.

The thing that helps me is the cost of diesel in Washington State. I've gotten into the game of trying to get my average mpg as high as possible.

I saw the title and thought great, someone with a new truck; this can't be good. Along the lines of a CEL or something.

Mine causes neck problems from my head hitting the back of the seat when I give it a little extra fuel from time to time.
This truck has more than enough power before the pedal is even pushed as far as it can go.

But Ford took the fun out it - they governed them at 97-98. You know there is a lot more there - but you can't get to it. At least thats what I have been told

Better use cruise control. Even when pulling you will creep up there if you are not careful.

There isnt and if you run in M 6th gear mode it will just cruise at that speed! Even though in this pic I wasnt in manual mode,I discovered I can hit M and program 6th in and it just idle's at that speed..LOL
