We didn't have those tools at our disposal. We would have had to lift the thing on ramps or jacks to be able to fit that much length down there, and we didn't have either one. We just didn't have the resources to do it at the time. We went into it without anticipating much difficulty, which is always a mistake, but hindsight is 20/20.
That's a negative, but I have the driveline ready to drop in. After that, all I've got left is messing with the carpet, re-fixing the brake lines, bleeding the clutch hydraulics, and bleeding the brakes.
Right on! Well keep up the hard work and it will pay off. I am still lovin my swap and everything seems to be workin great, other than my cruise decided to stop working but oh well.

Have you checked the third brake light and the tail lights?
I need a shorter transfer case shift linkage. Does anybody have one or know where I can find one? Which ones will work. I guess I can cut mine down, but I'd rather get one that I can drop in.

I cut and welded mine. What year is your donor stuff? And did you keep your stock trans?
Yeah, I've still got my old automagic transmission. I don't know what year the donor stuff is.
Sorry. I meant original t case. Using it or another? And the bracket that mounts to the transand links to t case, was it originally on the zf or your auto?
I'm using all of that stuff from my truck. I mean that as opposed to the donor.
I'm not sure what combinations are able to be used but the bracket that mounts on the trans for the linkage to the t case is different between the ZF and auto as well as the link bar is different length. At least that's how it was on my stuff. I used the bracket for the ZF and cut down my link bar from the auto to the right length.
Weird. The shifter and shifter bracket mounted on my ZF exactly like it did my E4OD. It goes through the range perfectly like it did with the E4OD. All I need is the linkage to be the proper length so that it will engage the shift arm thingy (technical term) on the transfer case.

Yeah mine both mounted the exact same too but the one from the zf was most definitely different. I'm not saying youre right or wrong with what youre doing. Just passing along what worked for me in case you have trouble.
Yea my cruise worked for a while and then quit. Third brake light works.. I think. AS for my transcase linkage i used all my donor stuff and it all bolted right up and worked flawlessly. My donor was a 93.
