Slipping into neutral 05 Expedition

Slipping into neutral 05 Expedition

Have an 05 Expedition, it is slipping into neutral when in overdrive. If I stay under 20mph it will stay in od. Anyone help me?

1. Have you checked the fluid level?
2. When was the filter and fluid last changed?

Was a little low on fluid, added some and didn't make a difference. Hoping it is a sensor.

OD clutch pack sounds like its spent! Has the tranny been hunting for gears?? Thats when it shifts out of OD and back into real quick like when in heavy traffic or towing.Also the OD should not stay engaged at 20mph thats an issue by itself. The programing will have it in 4th coming into third by then. If you turn the od off and drive it does it slip in any other gear???

No issues before today and when the od is off it stays in gear

Yeah had to get the tranny rebuilt, to the tune of $2200! Don't take it to a dealership if you have a small garage that you trust they will do it for half the price. The rebuild kit is less than $400.
