I have a '97 Expl. and I need a new battery. Can anyone tell me the best battery for the dollar and where to get it from. I live in So. Cal, so Sears, Kragen, CostCo etc. are my options. Any help and advice is very much appreciated.
I should also say that I have a 600 watts amp for my stereo, if that may add to the equation.
I also go with Interstates only. They have battery, model MTP-65, which is for Mega-Tron Plus 65, 875 CCA. It comes with an 18 month free replacement, and a pro-rated adjustment up to 72 months.
Try to get it directly from an Interstate distributor. My brother had two batteries in two different cars go dead after only about 2 years. He took them back to Interstate directly, only to find out that they were almost six years old. The local mechanic he purchased them from must have had them sitting on the shelf. The Interstate dealer knew it for a fact, since they've been using a different case design for almost five years. They few dollars you might save aren't worth the hassle.
