Hey guys, im new to fords. Ive been gm all the way. Untill for came out with the 2011 trucks, fx4 really. I just bought a 2011 f150 fx4 with the 5.0. I did 3 months of research, on the eb or 5.0. I settled with the 5.0. Is there anything i should know about the ford trucks, i know these enjins are new, so nobody really knows about those yet. Mine was built march 2011, so the fire recall has been taken care of. Its silver fully loaded. Got it for 45,000. Just rolled 1,000 miles. Just kindof out of place with fords. Ive had 4 chevy trucks and loved them, and a 06 gto. So far i love this truck, the intirior is the main reason i switched. What do these trucks have on other competitors. Other that wat i watched on youtube. Oh yeah. Look up ( mctsep) on you tube. Thats my gto
Welcome to the site and to Ford Truck ownership. I'm sure you'll enjoy your new truck and visiting this site. Tons of great folks with helpful information.
Regarding needing to know any thing about owning the Ford. There's really nothing special that I can think of that you need to know. I've owned many Ford cars and trucks over the years. Most have been great.
Keep up with the maintenance as recommended by Ford and you'll be just fine.
I'm not familiar with GM's intervals on flushing major systems such as the transmission, cooling system, differential oils, etc. You should review these in your maintenance guides as they may be different than what you are accustomed to.
If you change your own oil, most folks here will recommend that you continue to use Motorcraft oil filters which are readily available at wally world for under $4.00.
Thanks guys. I appreciate it. Im glad to be part of a forum, im a vehicle guru! I know just about all specs on every vehicle in the world. Love to know bout new vehicles. I recently saw a raptor dyno 343 hp and 340 somthing tourc. Pretty impressive for a big truck. The 6.2 could be promissing.
