Question do these things really work

I have been looking at some of these quick little in-line power booster that tie into your computer somewhere and imediatly add 15-20 hp. These things are selling on ebay for $15 to $30. They say that they are only for fuel injected engines. Do they do something to your timing or injectors. Are they worth the 20 bucks for quick hp. Or is it a hoax.

Hoax - Voodoo - Garbage - Dead Weight. You'd see more improvement by putting $20 worth of Helium in it to lighten it.

The webmaster here said in another post that those just trick the computer into raising the idle/throttle for faster throttle reponse. You can do the same thing for free if you have a digital multimeter. I adjusted my TPS using the multimeter and got better throttle response. It's definantly not 20hp worth though.

If it's the one I just got done looking at, all it does is change the signal coming from the Air Charge Temp sensor, in turn making the comp flow more fuel through the injectors. Just a waste of money AND gas. Not worth it at all!!
