that is REDICULOUS, He is asking way too much for a truck in that condition, I could see multiple flaws, I wouldnt even pay that much for it even if it was in mint condition, but, I wish him luck, someone will be gullible enough

-I noticed the paint on the valve covers was cracking a bit
-The intake under the carb isnt even completly painted
-The V8 Chrome emblem has some crome starting to peel
-Can clearly see the lower edge of the tail gate is really wavy in one spot
-and the seat looks un finished around the hinge there at the back of the seat

IDK Maybe Im too picky, But I think anyone would be if they were about to spend that kind of money

The rams' horns are very pitted! And it is not the way it rolled off the assembly line like they said: chrome bumpers, seat cover is not stock, and the engine should be yellow and the valve covers should be argent.

Great looking truck much much better than mine!! Ha Ha! but not $59,000 better

What is that on the left side of the firewall? Vacuum brake booster?

I believe that is a vent for the brake booster. I had a similar unit behind the seat in both of the F-6 trucks I had, and that's where it went to.

And you're right, those exhaust mannies are nasty

but apparently professional help is not required when you already know everything. where did all the old timers on this site go . it used to be a good site

Actually, when price is discussed on a vehicle, this is very consistent. You will notice comments where that it is a nice truck, just not worth $59,000. That is a lot of money and you can get something as nice for much less.

When flaws were mentioned, nothing was said until they were specifically asked for the flaws in question. The person also said that they were nit picky flaws, but for that money someone should be picky.

There is a difference between offering criticism and bashing someone for their decision. Jim's plan is a good one based on the type of paint he is looking at. Other plans would work too, so those could be offered in a pleasant way. (He even said he wasn't going metallic which would make his plan work.)

I really don't think anyone is going to buy that for 60000 grand..if they do our trucks become more valuable but in the grand scheme of things..it is a nice truck ..just not what we would spend ...now if it was a M-H One ton ..then it would be worth 55,000 don't you think??

Not to burst anyones bubble here but some of those flaws aren't there. Alot of people use paint that has that crackle effect, I don't know if its paint cracking or if it was done that way purposly. I'm not sure about the intake, my guess would be that it took abit for the gasket to get a good seal on it and that caused the paint to come off. It would be alot easier to leave it alone than to take a chance of taking the top end off just to repaint the intake. If you look at the V-8 emblem what you are seeing as chrome starting to peel is actually the reflection of the asphalt. Look real carefull at the the actual grill right underneath it and you will see the same "peel" look. Also if you look at the next pic of the rear bumper you will see what I'm talking about. The lower edge of the tailgate will always look that way. Its not that it is wavy as much as the spots you are seeing is the factory spot welds, so far every tailgate that I've seen on these old trucks has that. I think the new repops have it aswell. please don't take this as me being rude, just pointing out this stuff out...

This is something that has puzzled me for some time regarding all types of classic vehicles.
What makes something like this worth $60K versus some that are around $30K? I did a quick search on oldride and found a few in the $30K range that looked very nice. I didn't see anything that would justify and extra $30K....am I missing something?

My question is independent of make/model/year, but this just brought it back up for me.
Not that I can afford even the $30K versions....

im pretty sure I dont have 50 posts either but who gives a shait? I didnt read the article to see what was all involved BUT.........knowing legendary motorcar and their quality work along with the dedication to getting things right. the truck is right! factory original. AND if they used all new parts then 60K would be realistic IMO
