Engine light appeared and Rear lights went out so initial thought was just a fuse. Pulled all of the fuses and checked them one by one. Realized it was just a fluke and two bulbs went at the same time. Replaced one bulb (Thats all we had on hand) Then the truck wouldnt turn over. Sounds like a bad ground when you try to start (click click click) and the instrument cluster went haywire. All of the needles went full to the right when you turn the key.
So was a fuse put back in thw rong spot?
Would having a burnt out light cause the bad ground and make it not start?
Just wondering if anyone had the same issue and how they resolved it?
If all you get is a click-click-click in rapid succession like a machine gun, that's an indication of either a dead battery or a bad connection either at the battery or the starter. It could also be at the far end of the negative cable too. Remove both cables from the battery and clean them well.
Did you try to jump the truck with another vehicle ??? If it starts that way, you more than likely have a dead battery.
No connection with the light problem---just a coincidence.
