OH .... .... OK .... thought you were speaking about wheel studs, then it sounded like you meant the 8 or so studs that secure the drive axle in the floating hub of your 3/4 tone axle, and now ..... I'm believing that you mean the 4 bolts that bolt the brake backing plate to the end of the axle housing?
They are usually funny looking heads on them, kind of squished looking long oval heads. Often called "T-bolts", maybe 3/8" or even 7/16" diameter? That picture is a 9" Ford rear in a F100/150. Your's is maybe a Dana 60 with floating hubs.
Those above are 3/8-24 NFT 1.30" long Ford bolts for the 9" rear sold by Ford Racing M-4002-B available Summitt, etc. They may not work for your Dana? '
You are right, not as easy to find. Not enough room for a bolt's head.
That is EXACTLY what I am looking for!! It is for a ford 9in that is in my 78 f150 4x4. I haven't added that to my sig yet but I'm about to.

Yeah .... I saw that after I posted ..... when I looked back through the thread. I had missed that. I was editing my response as you were posting a reply to my unedited reply .... LOL.
They weren't cheap! Might be some cheaper standard ones available .... but the likely are stout.
I assumed after I read post #9 that the T bolts are what you wanted, but didn't wanna chime in till you confirmed.
1962/78 F100, 1975/78 F150 and possibly 1979 F100/150 (and etc) as original:
C2AZ-2248-A .. T Bolt-Axle Housing to Backing Plate / 1/2" -20 x 1 13/16" long / Available from Ford.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog sez in the rear axle parts lists for the 9" rear axle:
To obtain the correct parts for 1979, you must measure the backing plate bolts to see if they are 1/2" or 3/8."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1978/80 Passenger Cars / 1979 F100/150 (and etc):
387997-S (replaced D8AZ-2248-A) .. T Bolt-Axle Housing to Backing Plate / 3/8" -20 x 1 23/64" long / Obsolete
Using 3/8" bolts in 1/2" holes will allow the backing plate to rotate some forward at first brake application until next time you back up and hit the brakes, when they may allow it to rotate backwards when brakes are applied ... and so on. This movement will not help the brake lines that have to flex to go with the plate and the bolts will soon be loose .... at best.

The only set of 1/2 inch studs I've found are only 1.00 long. I don't think they would work. The OEM parts are 3.77 a piece but I don't know if they come with the nuts or not.
Numbers does your parts books show a seperate part number for the nuts or do you know?
