Trust me, im not some old timer that thinks trucks should be as quiet as possible. Im 19, and Ive had everything from stock, to straight piped with stock manifolds, to open headers. It seems cool to have the loudest truck around until you have to drive it everyday. With that loud of an exhaust, you can barely hear the radio, you cant talk to anyone in the truck without screaming, you cant talk on the phone if somebody calls, you cant come home at 2 in the morning without getting caught, and it gets old really quick with the constant exhaust noise. I think Flowmaster Off-road Super 44's will be plenty loud, but still be tolerable. These trucks arent exactly known for having the best sound deadening technology in the cab.

Besides, do you really need a RACE muffler on your truck? Last time I checked, NASCAR isnt running any 1991 Fords, and especially not any F-250's.

And by no means am I criticizing you, like I said, Ive already done all that stuff. Im just giving you a heads up
this is somthing i had considered and i am not offened in any way but just like you i just want to tinker a little bit and i got some extra cash so wat the hell haha

Trust me, ive done the same thing haha.

I bought a brand new set of Flowtech Purple Hornies header-mufflers from Summit about 4 months ago, they still havent been taken out of the box.

I never got to put them on because my stepdad and mom found out about it, and I moved back in with them, so they would not let me stay here with my truck being that loud. Sooner or later they will find themselves onto a project, but for now they are in my secret "stash" of parts ive had to hide from my stepdad (he wont even let me check my oil without complaining, so Ive got a whole set of heads, full intake, and fuel system neatly hidden in the corner of the garage)

Whatever you do, do not get any headers made by Heddman. The quality is not too great.

I'm with 8lugSlug. I think a more inbetween muffler would be better. I have had various different configurations and loud is fun for about a week and then it gets old really fast.

I would go with Dynomax Ultraflo, or Magnaflow.

If you still want loud, I think Dynomax Race Bullets would sound far better than those Blowmasters.

An H pipe or an X pipe are more or less balance or crossover pipes. They equalize or balance the two banks. There is nothing wrong with a good free flowing Y pipe and a 3 inch single exhaust.

guess what i am looking for as far as sound goes is a really deep note from my exhaust or a deep rumble at idle

Short of getting the headers real hot and pull the collector the way you need with a prybar. I don't know what to tell you. I was gonna say go Pacestters as I have them and they fir perfect. However its a bit late for that.

A 4-5" body lift is never the answer...for anything...ever.

x2... body lifts are the cheap way for high schoolers to make their rig look cooler with very little cash (or older guys jacking up their ride to overcompensate if you know what I'm sayin! LOL). Anyhow... body lifts don't give you much more advantage in any areas. They may be a cheap way to jack your rig up now but the best way to go is a suspension lift that will actually get your truck up off the ground.

Pacesetters is what i origionally suggested and it looks at though that was overlooked. I know they are more expensive but now you have to either cut up the ones you have or get an expensive suspension/body lift to maybe make them fit. Sorry to say but you should have dropped the cash on the right part the first time around... If you have a mig... well it's time to bust it out and move the pipes around for a custom fit... That's your only good option

i will be returning the headers today it is not to late for that thank god!
i mean this is a fully custom simple thing the pipes to going ture duals an out the side in front of the rear tires only issue is getting past the transfer case did hooker like screw up when they made these or were they ment for the f- 150. on the passenger side the pipes sit right up against the frame i was going to do a 4 -5 inch lift next any way but would that give me the clearance i need on both sides?

i have the exact headers with 4x4 and a 5 inch lift, the drivers side hit the driveshaft. . .i heated up and bent the primaries/collector a few inches in to clear the d-shaft. cheap alternative to returning and buyin a more expensive set.

I am trying to figure out what to do with my truck. Have had an exhaust leak since I bought it. So I was thinking of just getting new headers and hope that'll solve it. But can you get rid of all that air tubes and air injection stuff connected to the factory manifolds ?
