Hello again all, it has been a pretty busy month or so. Just wanted to give a little update, so far not much has been done, I pulled the front fenders off so I can have easy access to the motor, I have narrowed it down to a 390, 410, or 428, I still have to get the measurements to make it official :-) it is an FE though so I am starting off good.
I pulled the carb, and am just waiting for my vacation to start and end so I can put the "extra" cash into the truck starting with a rebuild kit, and maybe a new intake. Not sure on the last though baby steps :-)

I wouldn't have traded it for anything!
You bring back memories "hobby shop" haven't heard that one in a LONG time! and "short on money"...well i still deal with that! LOL
Welcome Scott. Good looking truck. It looks very straight.
I think you have the right idea about the brakes. FE with stock brakes will kill you or someone else. Another thing to consider is to box the frame. I really don't think that the stock frame was designed to handle the FE torque. Looks like you are having fun. Welcome.
