Buy an inexpensive feeder. The simpler ones are usually better, the fancy decorative ones suck, IMO. Mix 1/4 cup of plain white cane sugar with tap water and fill the feeder. Hang it under an eve and wait. They'll find it.
I prefer the feeders with glass bottles. They clean best. If you have a bully stopping the birds at a feeder put several feeders close to each other. It works him too hard to defend several feeders & he will give up. I have a good photo of a bully in my third photo. LOL
This is the one I use. I have three of them. It's durable, easy to clean, cheap and it holds a LOT of nectar. When they're really feeding I can fill this one every other day. When it's really slow, I just put in a cup at a time.
Wow, that holds almost a quart.
My wife is going to love it.
