58 vs. 56 f100 steering column

58 vs. 56 f100 steering column
Is there any difference in the steering column in the 1956 and the 1958's. My grandpa gave me his 56 and said he had put a 58 steering column in it after the other messed up and I was just wondering. It works , just curious if it affects the originality of it in a major way.
