So, i have a 1994 f150 300/6 5 speed and i love it. BUT, i just found this on craigs list and its a hell of a steal! 92 F150 302 V8
Hers my thaughts, i cant part ways with my truck, i just cant. The body on my 94 is bad. Its rusty, dented to **** and not a panel on it (besides the fiberglass hood) that any amount of bondo can probably save BUT the drivetrain and everything mechanical is 100% sound.
I was thinking that because this 92 is 4x4 and has power windows and what not, and has a near perfect body but not so much drivetrain, i can use the 92 as the base and take the 5 speed from my 94 and put it in there, as well as the 6 and basically combine 2 trucks into one awesome truck.
Whats your guys`s opinion?
My moms gonna kill me for bringin another truck home lol
Only auto to stick conversion i did was on a 79 gmc, havent done a ford. Id grab that truck either way, could always sell me the box for my 95 , unfortunately i live in the rust belt so a clean body like that is tough to find.
So do i bud, trust me. Before the wether man gets the word snow out of his mouth the road is piled 10 ft high with salt. Hence the reason my 94 is so rusty.
see i was going to do that on my 94 until i realised that id have to get a new floor pan, rocker panels, in front of and behind rocker panels, bed sides, front quarter panel....do i said screw it lol i have fun with the truck because the body is already bad so if i so happened to hit some linbs or something, it wouldnt matter
Yup, as far as the bed goes your better off just finding a rust free one, For now im letting the body go on my 95 while i make drivetrain improvements. 3.55 gears and open diffs are not gonna cut it off road.
thats what i did for my 94. body looks rough but everytime someone drives it, i get the same reaction "holy **** this thing drives better than my new truck"
call it a stock sleeper?
