5.4 2v More mods

Hi I have a 2002 f 150 single cab flareside 2wd lowered 2/4 which im planning to turn into a fun ride.
It currently has long tube headers, edge cts with gryphon custom tunes, dual electric fans and 4.11s with 28s.

The 5.4 has 81k miles and in perfect condition.
I wanted more power of it without supercharging it.
I also want to buy a forged rotating assembly for it, but since its running strong i want to wait for it to start knocking at least...

So i wanted to start by adding:
1.Trickflow heads
2. custom comp cams similar to the xe262AH ( aprox 1500-5500 rpm range)
or one from the ModularHeadShop Bullet Cams but since the trick
flows have a different intake valve location allowing more lift and a
different intake center line I think I should custom make one, dont know if
the modular head shop custom grinds...
3. Better converter with a 1500 stall at least

As you can see this will up my cr to 10:1, I am on 4.11s on a lowered 2wd with 28 tires, so :
1. will i loose that much low end tq to feel it?
2. how much power can i expect here?
3. will my stock bottom end hold a while, atleast without thorwing a rod and destroying everything?
4. Other recommended cams to look at, or maybe keep the stock pi ones?
5. Should i keep the stock pi intake or will i see gains on going to the hps one as i see is the only better option?
6. besides head gaskets and head bolts, what else should I change ? expendable or gasket wise?
7. Do i need bigger injectors and MAF?
8. at 10:1 I need premium right?

In a year or two, I will defenitivly upgrade my bottom end, asi i said earlier, I just want to use up mine a bit more since its running strong and then maybe run a blower or higher compresion, depending on the results i get,

any opinions are welcome and thanx
Joe

1. your gonna gain hp and tq with a higher cr, alone
2. iam no dyno fortune teller but i have looked into combo's, you should be well into the 300's with the parts alocated.
3. if shes been well look after and you dont spin it to the moon yes, but anything is possible...
4. depends what your willing to except in terms of hassel vs power i can reccomend a great power making cam profile, but its street drivability would be poor and vise versa
5. thats a qeustion for jhonny langton
7. injectors, yes 39lbs-42lb ( for future upgrades) maf possibly you'll find out when your getting your truck tuned if so you can find a 2001+ 90mm lightning maf for 100bucks
8. YES

If you want my personal opinion... i'd walk the supercharger root now. less truck down time and will make more power while keeping your street driving abilty without hassel.

If your eager to change something in the engine pop the valve covers and timing chain cover and swap the cams out for more boost friendly ones, slap your supercharger on, intercooler, inline fuel pump injectors and maf along with some plumbing and tunes, some good tireas and a sway bar 12'seconds all day

Thanx for the reply, As upercharger sounds nice but ive heard of people blowing their rings 10k miles after a low boost supercharger installed, and if i started first with the tfs heads and later on add a forged bottom end i could make alot more power in the future with a supercharger.

So I thought by adding those heads plus upping just a little the rpm range i could have added atleast 50 rwhp and play with it a couple of thousand miles before i started a rebuild and the sc route. Im asking since ive seen no one use the tfs heads on 5.4 and even less ona truck...

I used to plan my builds (clevelands and windsors) by using desktop dyno with awsome results but i cant seem to get an acurate dyno guess from a stock 5.4. Theres too much variation on stock head flow numbers and stock camshaft timmings missinfo i guess...

sounds great, you'll never go wrong with innvestting in reliablity to take more power, just one little area i'd love to opinon on sence our the walk the path not many have walked type (i'am not knocing you, it's what makes new combo's trends a succes) what you think of a 4v head say from the >04 nav's? heck gt500 4v heads? and a custom intake, custom grind cams and for the cherry top...bammm supercharger

all bull a side i'll look into tfs heads what size runner you loking at?

you fimiliar with theprogram pipemax?

haha i would love to have a 4v on my truck, but that would be another expensive story..

Im loooking at the stock 185 ccs tfs.

Nope, I will read about it, is it better on newer engines? Ok I just read about it, it helps you choose the best exhaust system for your aplication. Regarding this, there is a funny myth thats been laying around here with huge discutions. That long tubes and true duals will hurt bottom end, and is total BS.. I still havent recieved my custom tune for my lts and duals and i felt a hell of a difference at the but dyno, since them im able to spin my wheels harder even at half throttle....
