I want to make picture entries for "My Garage" and an avatar, but unfortunately I shoot my digital pictures at a higher resolution than the website is happy with and it won't accept them. Is there an easy way to make this problem go away or do I have to shoot special pictures at a lower resolution to make the website happy?

Can you resize them via flickr or photobucket? Is it giving you specific numbers as far as what your pics are and what it accepts?

I've had real good luck with Prish Image Resizer. Free, too! Just google it and then download it. Once you have it downloaded, just right click on any pic and resize it to whatever you want to. Very useful tool!
