flywheel question
I have a 1990 F250 4x4. It has a 5.0, the ZF tranny, Dana 60 kingpin front end and a 10.25 full floater. I just got a 1992 F250 parts truck that has a low mileage 5.8 that I'm going to pluck as soon as the rain stops!
I've used the search and found some good info about doing the 5.8 swap, I have no questions about that. My question is, the 5.8 has a E4OD behind it right now, I know that I'll need a flywheel and I'll order it on Monday along with a new clutch kit. Is there a reference mark on the crank that the flywheel gets aligned to or does the bolt pattern on the crank only allow the flywheel to be bolted up one way?
I honestly considered swapping over to the automatic, as the one in the parts truck was brand new from Ford w/ only 10K miles on it but the parts truck has the newer style dash ( electronic speedo) and a completely different electrical system, it just looks like too much of a potential headache so I'll just do the smart thing and keep the 5 speed.
Thanks for any help
