Fan Clutch
Looks like I have the dreaded stuck-on fan clutch on my '09. It sounds like the truck is jet ready to take off. So, it's off to the dealer on Monday. Who wants to bet the clutch will release on the 40 mile trip to the dealer? "I can't duplicate the problem", they will say...

Got mine replaced two weeks ago, fan would come on and go off about every 15 seconds no matter how warm or cold the engine was. Sad thing was the truck had been into the dealer with that problem, not for that problem, twice and the tech never noticed it, I noticed after owning the truck for a day.
Also had the belt tensioner go bad and start eating the belt at about the same time.

Well, I called it. For days my fan clutch was "stuck" on and I endured the noise. I made the appointment to go in on Monday and when I drove to the dump on the prior Sunday the clutch released. Arghhhh. Now what?

Heck of a position to be in. Mine got stuck the one time but has been good ever since. I didn't do anything about it.
Maybe if you go in for something else then have then look at it. Just an idea
