Build date - significant or no?

I thought I read on here recently (but I can't find the thread again) that the older build date trucks had some issues that newer ones did not? Perhaps a TCM flash or something was needed? I have seen both, but not driven any - yet. Should I avoid the older ones? I did notice that the older one had a different idea of what a "black leather" interior looked like, and based on that alone, should I choose that interior color, I will opt for the newer ones. That snakeskin look does appeal to me much.

But other than that one obvious difference, is there any reason to look for the newer build date?

There are some differences from each of the different jobs (ex. Job 1 vs. Job 2). As an example, my Job 2 truck has an option for a rear defroster which Job 1 trucks don't have. Same with the garbage truck backup warning horn that a Job 2 truck has but not a Job 1. And of course you can get the limited edition seats with Job 1 but not Job 2.

As far as performance, all trucks from my understanding can be brought up to current with the appropriate firmware updates.

I have a May 2010 build and it's been a great truck except for the transmission shifting issues but the newer Job2 trucks have also had the same transmission issues.
The latest TSB install reports seem to be positive so far.
There have been some builds (say a bad BCM over six days) but that was corrected.
Job2 had a few added features as Marauder mentioned.

All I am glad is that the 2012 trucks don't have a bunch of things that I would have regrets of not waiting. From what I have seen thus far, the changes have been minor. Like the automatic full up and down of the driver and front passenger windows. Wonder if that can be programmed in? Or is there a sensor that needs to be in the motor to sense when I have my fat head in the way when it closes?! :0

I would think it's a button change, too.
It would be an added "notch" so that you can roll up the window part way or allow it to do so similar to how the down button works (two positions).
