Oil pressure started dropping, pulled over, idle was bad missing on one cylinder, no vacuum to booster, pulled valve cover and found #7 valve spring broken into 3 pieces and the pushrod bent.
going to get a new spring, keepers and a pushrod and then do a compression test. Pray my valve didnt get bent. Or even worse and broke piston.
That sucks, so I am STILL waiting for the correct spring retainer to arrive. Remember the M engines have either a 1 groove or 4 groove keeper. I guess it takes longer to make the extra grooves. I only hope the valve and piston isn't damaged.
I got it back together, I said exhaust valve #7 but it was #2 I must have had a bit too much rum that night. Anyway got it together on Tuesday and it has a miss, ran comp test tonight 0 psi on that cylinder.
Now ya tell me. It needs torn down anyway 0 compression in that hole. Weird thing is I had a V10 break one the same day on a customers vehicle (U haul van with only 13,000 miles. Its a 4 groove keeper also.
Found something in the webper going to go look at it today or Sunday and make an offer. I think I may have a valve that sucked in and possibly broken the seat. Could not see any damage to the top of the piston with a bore scope. Hell you can still see the crosshatch in the walls. I don't know what else would give me 0 PSI other than a Valve that's not closing completely because its sucked in (or sunken valve and broken seat)
