I would stick with the truck and stick with this site and these guys will help keep you out of trouble. Seems like a lot of problems can be prevented if the truck is monitored properly. And at any point if you feel you have a problem just post in here and get instant feed back, most every problem with a 6.0L has been dealt with here.

Where the EGR cooler hose is. Take the 2 torq bit screws out an then u can pull it off. Made mine easier to get out. Should b able to just push it out then. But may have to push HARD. If not then block of wood an hammer.

The kits I've used had instructions on how to remove the cooler assy from the housing. Basically it says to suspend the housing on blocks with the cooler between them then use a socket and hammer to drive the cooler from the housing. It takes a couple of pretty stout hits to move it. It's going to have to be stripped down to this (bottom center picture) http://dan.prxy.org/Truck/6L_bible_h.../Page_024.html

haha yea they are a *&(*^ to get out! i just took a hammer to mine but i was also careful not to hit the housing. the new one i just took the vise on the bench and slowly pushed it in. make sure to clean everything outta there and make sure no debris went past that screen or else you might be replacing an IPR valve

So............I'm in the process of going back together with this thing. I took the battery's out of it a year ago and put'em in my tractor. Once I get them back in the truck is there anything special I need to do to the computer system to make it run? thanks

The only thing I'd do would be cycle the key a couple of times to make sure the fuel system is good & primed. But that's just me.
