Flasher question/help

Ok I have a 552 flasher currently in my truck (its the green one) now I got a pair of LED bulbs which still work for the most part except for the blinking/flashing bit (figure the diodes are burnt out or somethin due to the flasher) so im wondering if anyone knows where I could find a replacement for my current flasher which is LED capable? id like to finish my LED conversion for my truck and this is the main thing i have left except for a couple festoon bulbs...

I think you need to add resistors to make the LEDs flash properly. I wasnt aware that there was a flasher with this capability.

Sorry to go offtopic, but where can I get the flashers, like on an emergency vehicle?

OK first I'm NOT talking Emery vehicle flashers as this is not a topic related to turn signals. Second for that ot question lets take that to PM please. As for the flasher it still flashes and new led bulbs work fine but I am looking for a way to lessen the amps or what ever so the diode won't burn out or up anymore.

You shouldn't have any diodes burning out with a quality LED. And LEDS draw very little amps.

Sidewinder-
Sirens - Dash Lights - Grille Lights - LED Lights - Seat Organizers - Warning Lights - Vehicle Decal : Galls

I'm thinking too much going to the diodes but I'm not sure how to tell what is going on...

You need to use a LED flasher also called an electronic flasher.
The electronic type flasher has a electronic timer circuit that determines
the flashing rate.

The factory thermal/mechanical type flasher, flashes at a rate depending on
the circuit current load. More bulbs in the circuit the flashing rate increases.
Less load such as when you replace a incandescent bulb with a led bulb could
cause the circuit to not draw enough current so the flasher doesn't work or
flashes really slow.

Ever notice if one of the turn signal bulbs burns out the flasher stops working?
That's because the current load has changed and there isn't enough current
draw so the flasher doesn't flash until the burnt out bulb is replaced.

An electronic flasher can't detect if a bulb in the circuit is burnt out.

You can purchase a LED flasher on E-bay for about $13.00.
Here's the link for a 2 prong flasher.

Ive swapped my whole truck to LED.

You need an electronic flasher. You can get one from an auto parts store for like $10 in the electrical isle. I think I have the EL12

Electronic flashed unit
I got mine from AutoZone because my trailer lights made it hyperflash but it's the same story for LED bulbs
