Transmission problems can you help?
I have a 1987 f150 with a inline 6 300 cubic inch motor and 4 on the floor tranny I have the motor out getting rebuilt and figured this would as good a time as any to change the tranny the 1 i have doesnt accelerate up hill at all and accelerates slow on flat ground i was wanting to get like a 5 spd to put in it so i can also take it on the highway does any1 know if i can take a 5spd from a dif year model and it macth up

Any 5 speed from a Ford small block engine, 300, 302 and 351 will bolt right up to that one!
You have 2 choices, 1 the weak, but great highway driver, M5OD (Mazda transmission)
Or the robust ZF5 heavy duty 5 speed tranny found in HD F250's and F350's.
Both will bolt right up to your 300 as long as either one comes from a small block engine.
