2005 6.0 issue please help

2005 6.0 issue please help

i am haveing an issue w my 05 6.0l i have an edge juicer and straight pipe on usually running in stage 2 when im crusin along everything is fine but when i go to get on it to pass or get up to speed my truck boggs down for a few seconds puffing out a ton of black smoke and then the turbo will spool up and all smoke is gone my truck doesn't do this all the time just intermitantly. just looking for a few ideas on where to start. thank you

Edge Juice is not known to be good for the 6.0 or the torqueshift tranny. Start saving some money.

so after i get my turbo cleaned and rebuilt are there any good additives out there to help this problem so it dont occur often?

Definately sounds like a sticking turbo.

Yup, a cetane booster like Diesel Kleen (silver bottle). Use directed amount at every fill-up. I run 8oz of Diesel Kleen and 24oz of 2-cycle oil at every fill-up. I keep 4 32oz Gatorade bottles of this concoction in my tool box at all times.

Minimize idling (install the high dle mod if you absolutely MUST idle)

Use a custom tuner - SCT

Good fuel additive to boost cetane (Diesel Kleen or Stanadyne)

Keep batteries healthy (for FICM health)

Install a fuel pressure gauge - because chances are good your fuel pressure is low enough to be damaging your injectors

Proper fuel filters and proper fuel filter change intervals

5W40 oil

Proper oil filters and oil change intervals

if you beat on it more it will keep the deposits down
