Ok guys, need some help

3 weeks ago my truck (05) started blowing black smoke and had no power. dead on the side of the road.... I was thinking Egr? I put a new one in, runs good for 100 miles. same thing happening.. plug the superchip it gives me a code (#2 glow plug) put a new glow plug in. still same code... Search it out here, find out it's the glow plug relay. Put a new one in, and new ebp senor. It was running good other then the intercooler pipe keeps blowing off. got a new clap, the only way to keep it on is with 2 claps.. now a 100 miles later starts blowing black smoke and no power..(code p1335) The egr had a bunch of build up on it again.. just pulled it out and cleaned it, back to running good... PLEASE tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thanks

Your turbo vanes are likely to be sticking - needs cleaning.

Also - is the EGR valve the original one? If so, you probably should get a new one. Ford improved some of the design features of the valve in 2008.

Also, your tuner may be causing some issues - generating a lot of carbon, etc.

Brand new egr valve. No tunes, just use it to read codes.

Looked in the tech folder found "cleaning turbo" that's a great step by step with pic's. Just got the o-rings and gasket from the dealer. Going to try to tackle it. Is it worth me get a egr delete kit? I see it on the top of the 6.0 fourm. If so they have two kits, witch one? Thanks again and I'll post a follow up.

JHB i don't think you need two clamps to hold the boot on , if you clean it with breakclean inside of boot and the pipe , then spray hair spray [ yea the stuff your wife uses] in the boot and on pipe install with one clamp and will not blow off . Just remember clean got to be clean. peace out .

This is a lot of $$$$ but when you are on the side of the road with you thumb out what is a few $$$$
If you are having a problem keeping the boot on something like this may help

These boots are as good as they get and the ring is used to keep the boot on you run the clamp over the middle of the ring then get it tight it will stay.

you may have a underlying combustion problem if its plugging up that fast

are you always blowing alittle black smoke??>?

hopefully a good turbo cleaning will help
