I know this is a long shot, but...I put a 351 Windsor in my F150 4x4 (4 speed, married transfer) and I want to put headers on it rather than manifolds. Problem is - because this engine was never offered in these trucks, I'm having a hell of a time finding headers for it. I know 302 headers will bolt up, but I'm thinking I'll have issues due to the higher deck height of the 351. I know I can make my own headers too, and I can weld, but I'd rather have a bolt-on app.
Anyone know of a place that I can find a set? If not, I'll have to resort to building my own. Any suggestions on a decent kit?
You can get shortys all day long but I assume you want to go long tube. I would go ahead and go with 302 headers and extend the primary tubing. The 351W is about one inch taller so it doesn't seem to much of a big deal. If you do go this route, document what ya did and post it in FTE.
However, 351W was offered in the 80s so that may prove easier to modify.
Yeah, I wanted to go with long tube. If I *must*, I'd go with shortys. I have a set of 302 long tubes here that I'm going to mock up (I'll have a bare frame with just an engine and transmisson/transfer on it when I build the exhaust), but I still have to put this topic up in hopes that someone has done this and run into a set of long tubes that worked out for them.
