Well finally got to put some miles on the truck after doing my repairs. I still have a vibration coming off the back end. We have new tires all around wrangler pro guard LT275/70R 18,all are balanced properly, checked the rims as well just in case they were bent. Usually when I do my tire rotation I go right front to right rear and run with new steering tires when needed. Found some relatively new paved highway, gone down roads that I previously had driven without issue.
At 110-120-130kms(80mph) it shakes up through the back of the drivers seat and nothing on the steering wheel or floor pedals.I have now thoughts of the right rear axle being bent which I feel would be hard to do and there were no telltale signs,no damaged right side rims front or back. Or the shocks are spent with only 68,000kms(42200 miles) on them. They are the original factory installed Rancho's. The truck appears to track well going down the highway so I don't think it is a diff alignment issue. Any ideas. Thanks
My opinion is that the factory shocks are junk before you get to drive them off the lot. There is a thread about the rear vibration currently on the forum here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...07-5-11-a.html
Thanks for the link, looks like a quick chat with Ford and new rear shocks. That seems to be what I am getting now. Wonder why it has come up at this point and not noticeable anytime prior. I also had heard that the factory Rancho package on FX4 equipped trucks were poor,I have already had the front rancho's replaced at just around 20000kms on warranty. Was just waiting to get back on my feet to replace all 4 with another brand. Thanks again.
