At least i'm pretty sure its the harmonic balancer, the wheel on the front of the crank shaft. how do i get it off I'm trying to send the crank shaft to Aune and i cant get the balancer off ad the plate behind it. I'll ship it like that but if i could get it off the box could possibly be smaller and cost less to ship.
thanks in advance
Turbill, where in western mass are you? I picked up a Rotunda service kit from ebay last year, and it has a harmonic balance puller. It would save you from having to rent one.
I wouldn't mind taking a look at that engine you're tearing down, just for the hell of it. Don't think I need any parts, but I always like seeing how things work.
I'm from Southwick but right now i'm up in Boston for school the engine is totally torn down right now. I'll see how much it is to rent one i imagine not much but i've never rented tools before. But if its a good amount of money i might want to borrow it next time i'm home. I forgot Aune is over in Iraq so i guess i can wait on sending the stuff to him but we'll see how things play out
