Real MPG

I am looking for real world...meaning the way you drive ...what is the MPG.

Also how do you drive...
not worrying about MPG (hammer down)

or very conservative

or don't think about it just drive

I have an old BII that is going to not pass emissions...

I posted this also in the Crossover.....but like the Escape also...trying to decide

Data needed...

My wife has a 2005 V6 Limited AWD. She drives pretty conservatively. Her car typically gets right around 19-20 MPG consistently. On a long trip I have seen as high as 24 MPG but that is pretty rare. Her driving consists of suburban roads with some freeway. She is seldom in a busy traffic situation. Hope this helps.

If I take it easy and always drive the speed limit my 03 V6 gets 23-24 mpg, if I drive 10 mph over the speed limit this drops to 19 mpg. My commute is 42 miles each way of curvy mountain roads. Half are posted a t 45 mph and half at 55 mph. Hope this helps.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Our 2010 V6 4x4 gets:
16 mpg in town (commuting about 2 miles per trip)
23 mpg on the Interstate (75-80 mph)
25 mpg on highways (55-65)

Our total average mpg since new is 19.167 in 10,998 miles. I've kept track of every fill up and know exactly what it's doing. Neither my wife nor I (she drives it to and from work, I drive on trips) are real lead foots nor are we conservative. We just drive.

2006 4wd XLT V6
17.5-21.5 45 - 55 mph country roads
22 - 25 65 - 75 mph on interstate
15 - 18.5 45 - 55 mph country roads during our nice Wisconsin winters (15% drop)

Mostly driven by wife. Not a lead foot but not conservative either - somewhere in the middle.

Drop is because of warming up the car before driving (i.e. 0 mpg), along with the less potent fuel mix they sell in the winter.

One's a V6 with a 4 speed, the other is a 4 cyl with a 6 speed. Definitely makes a difference.

Compare his V6 to mine and you'll see a couple mpg difference too purely due to the transmission.
