Seat cover source "52

Arrived at the point of upholstery on the stock '52 bench seat . Stock piled some parts when the sales were on . A replacement becnh seat upholstery kit was one of them . Media blasted the seat back frame and springs ( not fun ) epoxy primer and correct color paint , came out very nice . Go to put the seat cover on over the jute backing pad and white cushion material and it i s not happening . The cover seems to be 2 " short .
Took it to two auto interior shops in town , one wouldn't mess with it and the other pointed out the error in fit .Anyone have any idea of where one could get just the seat cover for a '52 bench seat or would it be better to have the older guy who pointed out the error make one . He is very knowledgeable with older auto interiors Also need a pic and or info on the 2 long tabs on the lower rear corners of the seat back cover . Do they wrap forward arounrd the seat back frame or wrap rearward around the frame and get hogged ring tothe back . Thanks ,Denny

Often the replacement covers are made using an original (old) cover as a pattern. Problem is, more often than not they have shrunk over the years and when you go to fit the new cover. guess what? to small.
Usually the best solution is to find vinyl that matches your needs. and then have a
trimmer (auto upholstorer) sew up a new cover to suit your refurbished frame.
And just like any good paint job, its all in how well the foundation is, skimp on the springs and underlying materials and the seat wont look right and more importantly wont last or wear very well.
How do i know all this, my wife is a trimmer. Sure helps when it comes to interiors let me tell ya. LOL
Hope this helps. John
