Arrow ABS Hydraulic Pump

Hi,

I have two quick questions for all you Ford experts, they are going to be fairly simple for you.

I have a 2000 Ford Expedition EB 5.4:

1) Where is the ABS hydraulic pump located?

2) Drivers side running board lights are out after a trip on the interstate and a quick smell of electrical burning.
Where should I start?

Thanks for all your valuable time!

Kelly

If the location for the pump is the same as in 98 (likely) it is under the master cylinder. The front of it is about even with the front of the motor.

Start underneath to see if any wires have fallen onto the exhaust system.

Arrow Found it didnt, find it

Thanks for the pointers. I found the ABS pump, but did not find any burnt wiring.

How would I test the pump to see if it is indeed malfunctioning?

Also, is there a common wiring issue for burnt out running board lights, mine are out on the drivers side.

Thanks again for your time.

Kelly

Do you have an ABS warning light on? If so the best way to determine where the problem lies is to hook it up to a scanner that can read ABS codes. Some of them will even run diagnostics on the system and tell you what is wrong.

You probably snagged the wires for the R.B. lights on something. You will need to check under the truck for broken/burnt wires.
