After all of the trouble I went through while building my truck to repair all of the rust issues, I spent last week sitting on the beach at Crystal Beach TX. I spent several hours today cleaning as much of the salt and sand from it as I could, but it is everywhere Oh well, I built it to drive
That looks like mostly rocks to me . A little salt air will do it good. Looks like a good time was had and you got to drive a cool old truck too boot !!!!!
You can either drive it or look at it. And if I recall correctly, you drive yours and I applaud you for it. Aren't you the guy who drove the Tail of the Dragon down in TN with your truck? Drive the wheels off it!
Yep, drove the Dragon last year and yep, pulled the teardrop almost 1100 miles this trip.
We had a blast on the beach, there were 15 teardrop trailers in all. Also turned down 4 offers on my truck, guess south TX folks want effies pretty bad
I know what you mean. That sand and salt will get into places you didn't even know you had places. You will be finding it and cleaning it out for a year at least. Glad to see that you got to enjoy your truck and have some fun.
Drive it like you stole it. Its far better to enjoy the truck than to get all wound up and run for cover efverytime there's a hint of rain, sleet, snow, etc.
jeff you oughtta se all the nasty stuff from the last time mine was driven , middle of winter in 8 inches of snow and lots of road salt .... it aint pretty , but by goodness it is driven when it's together !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I drove my COE to Bonneville Speedweek each of the last 4 years. All over the salt and just wash and rinse it down well when i get home. Drive your truck and enjoy it like you are doing.

Is that a Mecedes emblem I see on your grille? If it is that is quite ironic. Here' why. Mecedes Benz sued Ford because they thought the 3 pointed star used on the grille of the 6 cylinder 53 trucks looked too much like the Mecedes star. So Ford used a 4 pointed star in 54 and 55 to indicate a 6 cylinder...
