My dad just gave me his 98 f-150 as a birthday present. I'm just trying to read up on the known issues and stuff. It's a V6 auto XL, base model. 142xxx miles but well taken care of. It should last a while and keep the miles off my Camaro.
It took me by suprise. He said something about buying a new truck last week. I joked that he should give me his old truck. He shows up at my house today and hands me the title. Pretty
Welcome to FTE, b1. Always glad to meet new folks here, especially if we can steal em from the bow-tie crowd......hehe.

LOL......I'm not defecting from the chevy crew. I still have my Z28. I'm just interested in learning about the newer ford trucks. I've been away from them for a long time.
My very first vehicle was a 78 f-150 4x4. That was followed by a 66 bronco, 87 f-150 4x4, 75 f-100 4x4, and now the 98 f-150. So I have been on the blue oval side before.
The way i see it is, if it gets me to work and doesn't breakdown alot it'll be worth it.
