Just went and got the idi today. The Carpathia here from fte offered to follow us home which was great. So i got to take her home today. She is a little rough on the outside but the drivetrain is solid, and so is the frame. Got tons of repair receipts with the truck. Also it has a additional transcooler besides the radiator cooler. Going to switch to some good sca coolant and we should be good, also do some rust removal to make her a bit more pretty, along with some paint in the rusty spots.
Oh ya this thing was saved, it is a great truck, just ugly. Thing just had a new injection pump put in two years ago. This is a solid truck, well cared for and maintained. It's at 337,782 miles and i'm hoping to get at least another 150,000 out of her. I don't know what a 330,000 mile truck should drive like but i do perfer to drive this over my mothers 98 grand cherokee, more power and the steering isn't lose!
Exactly. Shouldn't be too bad. Needs new doors, and dent removal from the bed, and new talegate, some minor cab repair. Also just found out it has 3.55:1 gears so this thing should do pretty well economy wise. Which, i good because i'm going to use it to commute 9 miles to school. I'm guessing it did about 20mpg on my way home but i have to do some math on that.
Did some math, and using my eye on the fuel gauge used less than an 8th of a tank which puts it about 20mpg.

Hehe.
On the other thread about this grand old lady, a full 360 set of pics were posted. Someone being kind said, "Well, the hood looks good." (By the way, it can be sticky. Pull hard on the hood release, Onus.)
Onus has his work cut out for him in making her "pretty." Onus has a very nice navy blue-almost-black bed from another truck whose frame is bad. IMO, these trucks should be combined in a checker board look. No one can say that combo truck wouldn't have style!
Where are ya Onus? I got a crap load of parts I gotta get rid of!
Onus is in the middle of Connecticut. That's a trek from Ontario, but The Carpathia (the truck, not me... but also me) likes a good road trip. She could come pick up her own parts!
