Is there an chance that the inner bearing needs to be pressed on to the spindle cause it won't go on far enough to sit where its supposed to on the spindle anyone got any ideas
Does anyone know if the inner bearing on my truck has to be pressed onto the spindle caue it will fit in to the rece in the hub but not all the way onto the spindle I'm perplexed any help would be appreciated greatly
I have seen this several times where the old wheel bearings go bad and overheat the spindle and the spindle expands a few thousandths of an inch. Try as Motel Mel has stated with emery cloth. I have also had to use a dremil tool with the abrasive barrel and "grind down" the spindle until the bearing slides on. I just used a 3" air sander with 36 grit sand paper on a Mercedes with this exact problem last weekend. Just take\grind\sand the spindle down until the bearing lightly seats with hand pressure.
The spindle is brand new it looks exactly the. Same as what I have but the bearing won't fit it didn't really make sense that it would be pressed on
It is NOT supposed to be pressed on. That would be bad.
Is there any chance you mixed up the inner and outer wheel bearings? They are different sizes. If that's not the case, and you have the right ones in the right places (which you probably do), are you wiggling the hub as you're attempting to install it? Sometimes the bearings won't sit 100% in the hub. Otherwise, you need to do what was said three times earlier...
Get some emery cloth (it's cheap!) and use it on the spindle to take a small amount of material off until it slides on!
