Lariat options

I had a dealer tell me the adjustable petals and power sliding rear window were both standard with the Lariat package. Is that true? My 2010 didn't have adjustable petals but did have the power sliding rear window - and it was a lariat. Did they change that in 2011? I dont see those features listed on window stickers a whole lot either.

My sales guy said they both come with the Lariat. We'll see when it gets here this week. I had the pedals on my 05...I adjusted them once....

Verbatum from my 2011 Lariat's window sticker:

STANDARD EQUIPMENT INCLUDED AT NO EXTRA CHARGE

EXTERIOR

POWER SLIDING REAR WINDOW W/DEFROST & PRIVACY TINT

INTERIOR

MEMORY DVR SEAT/PEDALS
---------------------------
2011 F150 LARIAT 4X2 SUPERCREW / 145" WHEELBASE / 5.0L V8 FFV ENGINE / ELECTRONIC 6-SPD AUTO / OXFORD WHITE / BLK LEATHER TRIMMED CPT CHRS

STANDARD VEHICLE PRICE: $36,470.00

I would not buy a truck w/o power adjustable pedal, because...here in this menagerie, they are a necessity. "She, who must be obeyed" is 5-3, I'm 6-5, so the adjustable pedals are adjusted quite a few times.

These trucks also come with a tilt/telescopic steering wheel, so it's adjusted quite a few times.

btw: I've saved the window stickers from every new Ford I've purchased, cuz one never knows when the info may be needed...here on FTE.

Eight new Ford trucks and three new Ford cars purchased since 1965. How many have y'all purchased new?

Window stickers are cool things to have. I have the one for my 65' F-100. Never really thought much about it 40+ years ago. Man, that was a long time ago. This relic has really stood the test of time. The truck is in pretty good shape also. ;O)

On my Lariat the power window is standard and the defrost was a $155 option.
Waited to order mine so that the order would go in for the 11/02/10 defroster availability.

Why the question?

I have bought New Ford Trucks since 1989 10 Brand New. Always upgraded. Started small then moved on up.

Now, on New Cars the answer would be 9 Brand New. Since 1992. My wife has always leased hr cars and all been from Ford.

Just curious too see how many FTE members have bought new Ford products.

If you're counting leases, "She who must be obeyed" has leased two new Ford vehicles: 1994 Taurus, 2008 Edge.

And, besides the 11 new Ford's I've owned, have owned 69 FoMoCo old rolling piles of misery. Except for one 1953 Mercury, three Lincoln's (1936 Zephyr/1940 Continental/1955 Capri), the rest have been Fords and most were cars.

This will be my second new vehicle in 47 years. It's a pretty big deal for us to buy new.

One yr old: 65' F-100 Ranger > it was willed to me in 66' > still have it.

New: 67' AC > Stollen 4 months after I got it. 427, extremely fast. Not much fun in bad weather.

New: 71' Pantera > 351 Cleveland, ZF transaxle (if I remember correctly). Didn't get to drive it until 72' - stateside leave. Short leave, but long enough to "scatter' the motor - they would NOT warranty the motor - sold it as is. Never bought another NEW cage until...

SORRY
06' Silverado SS > loaded

Looks like some of you guys have TOO much $$$. Care to make my Birthday a happy one.

Bill, I see your better half had a Taurus. I always did like the look of the Taurus. I like the later model station wagens with those little oval rear windows. You either like em, or you didn't, I guess. The owners I talked to said they got pretty good mileage. Is that true? As many as you see for sale, I'm assuming no one wants them. Hummm.

'96 was the year that Tauruses went with the hideous 'ovate' styling. Based on car sales, prolly 75% of the car buying public hated it. Ford made styling changes to the Taurus in 1999, but by then, it was too late.

Prior to 1996 (and back to 1988 or so), Taurus was the numero uno selling vehicle in the US of A.

During 1996, Taurus lost the top spot to the Honda Accord, amazing when you consider that less than 2% of Accord's were sold to rental car fleets, while over 40% of Tauruses were.

By 1999, Toyota Camry was the sales leader, Accord was second, Taurus had dropped to around #8. No Ford passenger car since 1995 has been the sales leader.

In the late 1980's thru the mid 90's, FoMoCo had 5 of the top 10 selling vehicles in the US: Taurus, F Series Trucks, Escorts, Tempo's and Rangers. How many does FoMoCo have now? One!

2 new trucks, in 2000 and 2005 my, currentlya driving second in sig. All used before that, 1 ford was a F150 4 by 4 1978.

When i bought my lariat, it had power roof, pedals, slider with it. But there were other lariats without all three or without slider and roof on the lot. You should be able to delete from the lariat package better than adding to a lower xlt package. Your dealer will have the codes you need and they can build what you want each way and you can order whichever is better for price for you and gets what you want. They can also do a delete the wood trim.

Not sure if having the 6.7 changes things, but I have the Lariat Ultimate pkg (sunroof, cooled seats, power rear sliding window, etc), but don't have rear window defrost. I had it on my last truck and would like it now, but luckily where I am at in Texas I only use it 4-5 times a year.
