Lurching under load
Hey y'all I'm new to this forum. My 97 f150 2wd with a 4.6 and manual trans started lurching as I was driving this morning. I'm thinking it might just need plugs but I'm curious to some opinions from this site. It calms down in 4th and 5th gears but is still there.

Sounds more like a fuel problem. How old is the filter (miles) ?
Plugs and wires could cause this as well, or an issue with one of the coils.
Usually though, you can tell an electrical misfire from a fuel starvation issue. Your adjective "lurching" seems to point more towards fuel.
How old is the clutch ? Lots of hot spots can cause some erratic acceleration until you get up to speed. Often though, you can smell this problem.
