2012 Escape V6 Tug Jerk Shudder Highway Speed

I'm experiencing the tug/jerk/shuddering in my 2012 Escape v6. It happens more around 70mph or 2,000-2,500rpm.

Tug/jerk/lurch/buck happens even more with OD off. Happens around 60mph or 2000rpm with OD off.

Been to the dealer several times even test drove with a mechanic that acknowledges the tug/jerk sensation. No codes or faults. Last visit the dealer showed me a print out of misfire counts and all cylinders were 0 yet on the drive home it was tug/jerk/lurching.

What could it be?

Bought a craftsman 20890 scan tool and read the entire thread here. Great info Bluegrass7!

I have the power graph printout as well. The line for each cylinder rises and falls almost like a sine wave, is that normal or should it be a flat horizontal line? I could scan and post the printouts if that would help?

Welcome to the site, miami5th. As a next step, you may want to consider getting a second opinion at a different Ford Dealership. Locate one near you by entering your ZIP code here: Ford Dealers | Locate a Ford Dealer Near You | Ford.com How many miles are on your Escape? I'd like to see what I can do to help with the lurching.

Hi Crystal. There's only 31k miles. I've already had another Ford customer service rep and later on a regional customer service manager engage.

I will be taking it to another Ford dealer and if the issue is still no fixed I will pay out of pocket to take it to a specialty transmission shop. It's all too convenient for the Ford dealers to say there's no problem...

I had a issue with my 01 lurching I thought it was the trans wond up to be a bad coil pack that would misfire no check engine light but mine did have a pending code.for a mis fire.

Thanks for responding, miami5th. I'd like to check out your case and investigate some options to assist. Since you're a new forum member, you may not have the ability to PM yet. Send your case number to custserv@ford.com and be sure to put my name ("Crystal") in the subject line. Post here if you decide to email; that's how I'll know to go and look for your message.

Just my $0.02...
Seems more RPM related than transmission. I would lean toward a bad injector if there are no misfire codes. Closely inspect/compare the sparkplugs.
