Rust-oleum rust converter

I was wondering if i could use that rustoleum rust converter paint on the rusty part on the body of my truck instead of sanding it , would the paint be alright to use for automotive uses would it hold up? It is a primer so after i spray that i would then put a finish coat on (color of the truck).
I would just be using it for small rust areas i am not re painting the whole truck in it. Second question is could i paint my frame and rear axle and everything else rusty under my truck with it would it hold up to the rocks, sand and grit while going down the road . I really like this stuff used it on some lawn furniture and it has held up pretty well . I am just seeing if i can take the easy and quick way out of sanding and surface prepping

If it were me i would still scuff it a tad. If theres rust it probably isn't smooth anyway. I wouldn't use it as a finish coat. It would work great under the truck but put a top coat no that as well. Primer isn't made to hold up to the elements, is made to help bond a top coat and not much other then that. Hope this helps

I was going to use it as primer and then spray the finish coat or
"topcoat" duplicolor black on it, it is going to be temporary until i can get a job and drive then i will get it painted right it s just a quick fix to stop the rust and look decent.
