Hello everyone!
Under load, going up hills or towing, at around 1700 rpms it makes a sound that at first I thought was an exhaust leak. After it passes 1700rpm it goes away.
I found a broken exhaust manifold bolt on the drivers side and relaced all the bolts. The sound was still there.
I then replaced all the spark plugs and boots. The sound was still there.
The transmission went outthe following week and had it replaced with a new ford transmission. The sound is still there.
I also replaced the muffler and had the entire exhaust system and the sound is still there.
I am puzzeled by why it only occures at 1700 rpm. It sounds like a pressure relief issue as it is a spiting sound of air being released.
any ideas
