Mercon LV is what you want to add. I think around 8 ltr.
Apparently the early '08s did use SP and they changed to LV later in production. The OP should confirm what is specified for his particular transmission.
I have the external filter on my truck and a dealer charded me over $400.00 to change the filter and fluid. What do you guys with the enternal filter pay at a dealer?
Service manual says 7.1 L or 7.5 qts. for drain and refill. Torque drain pan plug to 20 Nm or 177 lb-in. Then check dipstick at normal operating temperature and add in increments of .24L or 1/2 pint till proper level in the cross hatch area of dip stick.
I measure what I drain; it is always 8 qts.
I have the later model without the external filter; so the internal filter was changed during the 60,000 mile service per the maintenance schedule.
