I've recently been restoring my 88 B2. I'll be psting pics soon.
At 1st we were going to raise it but I've decided to speed it up instead. I'm tring to look at all my options so if any of you have any suggestions I'd like to here them.I was thinking of using a mustang of the same year. Mine is already EFI. And I've seen s-10s with 350s so why not?:]
Either do a 2" body lift on it to make the C6 fit under it, or beat the crap out of the firewall. You have to cut the heat box, also. Yes, it will fit. I think a 302 would be awesome in one, and that's what we're looking into also. Good luck!
The 302 is a pretty common swap. I have one right now and am planning to swap it in soon. It helps but is not nessesary to do a body lift. You can also use a C4 or C5 tranny(with a C4 bellhousing).
Because the engine block itself is longer and wider than a V6. So to accomodate for the size difference, you have to cut the heat box so that the valve cover will clear.
A body lift doers not have to be installed and the firewall only has to have the lip trimmed. The heater box does have to be clearanced for the valve cover on the passenger side. I've been through it already and soon to do antoher.
If you look closely at the pass. side, the box needs to be notched for valve cover clearence, it also has a 3" body lift.
This is a 302 with 328HP with A/C, cruise, P/S and has the '84 OEM C5 with a '77 C4 valve body with a J.W. Performance bellhousing for a C4 with a 157 tooth flexplate. This combo has worked great for several years and thousands of miles.
