Hello all.
I'm looking for opinions/experince with changing the 360's intake to a 4bbl using a ford (boneyard) 4v intake. I already have a rebuilt holley to slap on. I've read the posts re: not much gain etc., but I want to get a little more out of my motor without dropping serious coin. Seeing that I already have the carb, and the local boneyards are cheap...ish, I thought thius would be a good low dollar improvement. Any reactions / "been there done that" ?
ps: truck is basically stock other than dual exhaust. Not used for towing, just tooling around cattle ranch.
Ther are only a few reasons that I usually change from a two bl to a four bl and power is not always the best reason. For the FE probably the best reason is because ot the weight factor, if the weight matters to you, another reason is to upgrade the carb and I personally have not had any good luck using a Holley unless you like to adjust it all the time, it was probably not set up for you specific engine, another reason is the electric choke upgrade here in Montana the weather is always changing and a good choke is very important. And like jowilker says put a Pertronix on it would help alot. Sometimes changing intakes you can create more problems than you solve.
