Lost filter??
Thats right top of the motor,close to the center, not the fuel filter though. Its in a housing, so you really cant see any thing that looks like an oil filter. You screw the lid off and change the filter element inside.

Lost filter??
There are 2 filters atop the engine. A small one for fuel and a large one for oil. When you get ready to change your oil, unscrew the lid. This unseats a valve in the bottom of the filter housing allowing the cannister and filter element to drain to the pan and out the oil pan drain. The filter element is less of an environmental hazard because there is less metal in it.
