Hello.
Does any one here know jow to install the e brake??
My F1 came with the handle but no cable. I dont see the hole in the cab for the cable and I dont know where its held on the frame.
Thanks thanks for the info
The cable exits the cab at the top of the floor plates that fill the hole around the steering column, you will see a bend in the top plate and the cable goes out sideways. The housing then clamps to the top of the trans crossmember on the passenger side. The cable then continues without its sheath to the rear crossmember where the rear brake cables come together.
The cable from the e-brake handle attaches into a swivel bracket at the rear crossmember under the bed. From there, separate cables (one per side) branch out to the rear wheels (from the swivel bracket). As you pull the e-brake handle, the swivel bracket turns sideways causing the other two cables to move and engage the e-brake at the wheels.
Thank you Ilya I only have the main cable and the lever inside the cab.
However I have the 2 e brake cables from my ot brand rear end so I Can use that.
I just donk know where the cable goes under the cab.
And A HUGE thank you for taking the time to take pictures and post them fpr me.
From what I remember, the main cable just hangs after it's attached to the cab with the little bracket (you can see it pictured a few feet from the front and then attached with the bracket on the cable rear (also seen in one of the pictures). It's under tension so it doesn't hang loose. The side cables are attached to one of the crossmembers on under the bed with the "L" shaped brackets pictured.
