spedometer off and cant be reset

spedometer off and cant be reset

So I've had this 2004 FX4 with the 5.4 in the shop twice to get the spedometer reset and it doesn't seem to work, the computer in the truck won't allow them to go in and change it. What do you guys think? I've had the truck since january and haven't had a problem yet. The only thing I can find different is the tire and rims are 275/55/20's and its got a leveling kit. Let me know if ya'll need anymore information

275/55/20 is the stock tire size for 4wd trucks. How much is the speedometer off, and in what direction? The factory settings allow for up to a 5% variation, with the speedometer usually reading higher than your actual speed.

That's how mine is at 60 miles on speedo the GPS shows 57 miles. but on a 300 mile trip the miles on GPS and on the odometor are 3 tenth different
So the mileage on the odometor is still correct when calculating fuel mileage

hey guys thanks for the response, the spedometer was 10 above at 60, but they got it, i guess they finally got the right settings to go through, it's spot on now
