hey ND, when you said flare sides had channel rear bumpers, do you mean actual I beam type? thanks to all

Dunno what an I-beam type bumper is, never seen or heard of one.

The Flareside channel rear bumper is a straight bar and is U shaped, with open ends.

thanks ." channel" and I-beam are usually one and the same in the working industry

i have worked in contruction for 40 years channel is a flat sided c, ibeam is long center leg with shorter top and bottom legs, hbeam is were the center beam top and bottom beams are the same length so truck bumpers are made of channel iron.just my 2 cents

Agreed, I prefer the basic trucks. My last truck a black 83 C10 swb had 1-option, an am/fm radio. Didn't even have a dome light, all vinyl interior, 250 I six & 3 on the tree.

It's funny, I briefly looked at the 2011 F150's. Was surprised, the base model had more options than any vehicle I've ever owned.
