I have a 1969 f100 with a 360 4 speed.. So the clutch is starting to go.. What should i do?? I was thinking about putting a auto in.. what one should i use?? or new clutch. what one should i get? Its my daily driver.. Im looking for a little more speed outta it.. new gears in the rear end? what should i get? The truck has a 5" lift on 35s.. thanks for reading..
im starting to think.. doing the clutch and putting new gears in the back will be the best bet.. what you guys think?
Back to the original question about gears--what ratio do you have? If you already have 3.25s, the swap isn't going to gain you much. 4.11s, now it's worth more research regarding cost etc.

Post the AXLE code found on the Warranty Plate, located on the left door face below the latch.
The Ford 9" axle ID tag is under one a the bolts (if it's still there) that retains the carrier (pumpkin) to the housing at approx 5 o'clock. The tag has the ratio stamped on it.
Ed: No factory tachs until 1980, and most a these trucks are using fat P-Metric radials. So none have accurate speedos, cuz the original tires were skinny bias ply G-78 x 15's or 7-75 x 15's.
