I have the ultra carry 2. Like you , love the feel. After buying one though, and having the problem I did, and then it sitting for 6 weeks at Kimber, I did a little research. What I learned it that the 3" barrel is the problem child of the .45. It would be best to do the 4.25" or larger.
Although, I have also learned that those who got them while working, swear by them..
